The WorkBC Centre in Cloverdale hosted a Chamber B.I.G. (Business is Good) event on Nov 24th and it was a great success with over 30 local business people in attendance!
The event was an opportunity to connect with the business community and raise awareness of our free employment services and supports available to employers and job seekers. Two local employers shared success stories reflecting how the WorkBC Centre supported them to find qualified candidates to build their business!
The event featured a silent auction in support of the Cloverdale Christmas Hamper Program. Our silent auction initiative had an overwhelmingly positive response from the Cloverdale business community with 24 donations valued at over $3,000!
Special thanks to Rivers Bend Winery who donated 2 gift vouchers valued at $500 each for Wine Tasting & Educational experience (for 10 people), and featured a wine cork guessing game for a door prize. As well, special thanks to our caterers for the evening, Design by Desire Catering, who not only fed us fantastic food, but also donated a catered dinner party (for 12 people) valued at $800! Our silent auction raised $1,500 in support of the Christmas Hamper Program!
